Philadelphia Eagles Select Offensive Lineman Danny Watkins With 23rd Overall Pick
The Philadelphia Eagles upgraded their offensive line by selecting Danny Watkins, a guard out of Baylor University, with the 23rd overall pick.
Watkins served as a firefighter for four years before enrolling at Baylor University. Watkins is 26 years old, by far the oldest player taken in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft. Watkins will try to improve an offensive line unit that allowed the fourth-most sacks in the league.
