Philadelphia Eagles Reportedly Want Players, Not Draft Picks, for QB Kevin Kolb

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio stated today on Sirius XM NFL Radio that the Philadelphia Eagles think this is their year and they will be pursuing every available big name free agent, notably Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, Tennessee Titans defensive end Jason Babin, and Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (who is not a free agent but will likely be on another team next season).

The report also mentioned that the Philadelphia Eagles are no longer interested in receiving 2012 draft picks for quarterback Kevin Kolb. Instead they want a player who can help them win games now.

As I have stated many times, it appears to at least be a possibility that the Philadelphia Eagles will trade quarterback Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, which would instantly be a move that would make the Eagles contenders in the NFL. It would also eliminate the need for the team to pursue prized free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

Don’t forget that Paolantonio stated several weeks ago that Kolb to the Cardinals is “a slam dunk as much as you can have a slam dunk.”

Instead the Eagles could pursue Jason Babin and Albert Haynesworth, as well as Plaxico Burress, and maybe even a linebacker like Barrett Ruud from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
