Antonio Cromartie to Oakland Raiders?
Antonio Cromartie “doesn’t believe in hometown discounts”, and is seemingly on his way out of New York. The Jets have first round draft pick Kyle Wilson waiting to become a starter.
In a recent radio interview, Cromartie listed the Oakland Raiders as a team whom he could see himself signing with.
He’s maintained all offseason that he will sign with the team who pays him most cash.
The Raiders are expected to lose starter Nnamdi Asomugha, and third stringer Chris Johnson could be a cap casualty.
Cro is a perfect fit for Oakland’s scheme, standing at 6’2″, weighing 210 pounds, running a 4.3 40, and having exceptionally long arms.
His coverage skills are out of this world and he’d be a viable option to replace Asomugha.
Questions about his tackling ability will bring the going rate down, and I could definitely see the Raiders signing him to a two-year deal worth $16 million.
Asomugha would command that much cash in just ONE year.
We’ll see, folks.
