Raiders Negotiating With Jared Gaither, Dashon Goldson; Asomugha Out?
The Oakland Raiders are close to an agreement with offensive tackle Jared Gaither, a source close to the situation revealed Wednesday.
The 6’9″, 340 pound Gaither will likely be the left tackle in Oakland. Jared Veldheer could move to right.
Veldheer gained 15 pounds this offseason to handle the bullrushers that right tackles face.
In other news, Oakland and San Francisco are in a bidding war for free safety Dashon Goldson. This all but confirms Michael Huff will not be brought back.
Goldson is a good safety with a nose for the ball. He’s great in run support.
Kamerion Wimbley revealed that his reps and Al Davis are working on a long-term deal that will save Oakland cap room. Wimbley was franchise tagged before the NFL lockout.
More to come later today as Hue Jackson’s press conference begins in 2 hours.
