Jaguars Lose Adam Podlesh To Chicago Bears

Jaguars general manager said before free agency started that his top priority was to keep their own.

He is off to a bad start.

Former Jaguars punter Adam Podlesh agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears on Thursday according to Tania Ganguli of The Florida Times-Union.

The five-year deal that he signed is one of the most lucrative for a punter in NFL history according to his agent.

The Jaguars had extended a contract offer to Podlesh, but Podlesh said the Bears commitment to him was much stronger.

The Jaguars will now enter camp with undrafted rookie Brian Saunders as the only punter on the roster.  Expect Gene Smith to go out and find a veteran before camp is over.
