Del Rio Says Garrard Is OK
The Jaguars have apparently dodged their first big scare of the 2011 season.
Head Coach Jack Del Rio told John Oehser of Jaguars.com that he expects starting quarterback David Garrard to be alright after leaving practice on Thursday night on the back of a cart.
Del Rio said that Garrard was suffering from a little tightness in his back and that the issue was “nothing major.” They took Garrard out of practice as a precaution not wanting to let the injury get worse.
While he did not say anything official, Del Rio did say that he expects to see Garrard on the field Saturday night when the Jaguars have their annual scrimmage in EverBank Field.
