According to Adam Schefter, the New York Giants have finally agreed to terms with first round draft pick Prince Amukamara. The Prince was the last first round pick to be signed, and the Giants made sure they finally locked him up so he can begin practicing tomorrow.

Prince is expected by many to have a huge impact on the Giants defense in year one, despite being the third or maybe even fourth cornerback on the roster.

However, as recently as yesterday it was floating around that the Giants could play Terrell Thomas at safety when they go to the three safety defense they went to so often last season.

The only reason they would even consider that is they must have faith in Amukamara to be the cornerback opposite Corey Webster in those situation.

We should know more on this when Amukamara joins his teammates tomorrow, it should be an awesome spectacle to see him play. Many thought Amukamara was a top 10 prospect, and the Giants were able to snatch him up with the 19th overall pick due to some reaches for quarterbacks in the first round.

After the draft, Jerry Reese seemingly had to hold back his jubilation. It wasn’t the most popular pick, but it could end up being one of the best in the 2011 draft.
