Football is Back in Philadelphia
As evidence from the video I took last night at the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens game fans are excited that the NFL is back, the video screen inside announced the proclamation. Eagles fans everywhere were excited to see their Eagles back in action.
Excitement was in the air last night and it started in the parking lot, the atmosphere felt as if it was the home opener. The smell of cooked meats wafted through the air and the sound of drums from the Eagles’ drumline could be heard throughout the parking lot.
The stadium was buzzing with enthusiasm as fans were discussing the new faces of the Eagles. The Eagles organization went with that angle in a pregame video package talking about an aggressive free agent period, and a fan poll as to which cornerback would have the interceptions this year Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Nnamdi Asomugha, or Asante Samuel (who overwhelmingly won the fan vote).
By halftime the thrill had worn off, and typical of preseason the fans made their way to the exits. The fans who stayed however were treated to some nice performances from Eagles’ third string QB Mike Kafka and WR Chad Hall. The game ended with an dramatic final two minutes as Ravens’ rookie QB Tyrod Taylor almost lead the Ravens to overtime but fell just short as the Eagles won 13-6.
If last nights game was any indication this should be a very exciting year in Philadelphia.
