Browns Cut Eight Players Off Active Roster
According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, the Cleveland Browns parted ways with eight players on Sunday afternoon as the team continues to move toward their final 53-man roster.
Included in the players released were newly acquired safety, Brett Johnson, and fourth-string quarterback Troy Weatherhead.
The remaining six players were:
Defensive linemen: Kyle Anderson and Jabari Fletcher
Wide Receivers: Jonathan Haggerty and Juan Nunez
DB: Darian Hagan
K: Jeff Wolfert
The Browns will have to cut an additional 23 players before the start of the regular season as the team will lighten their active roster from 80 down to 53.
Note* If Jeff Wolfert remains unsigned throught the season, expect the Browns to look at him closely with Phil Dawson’s contract about to expire.
