Eagles QB Vince Young Tweets There’s Nothing to Worry About Over Hamstring Injury
Despite his impressive performance against the New York Jets, there was a slight bit of concern when Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Vince Young tweaked his hamstring while on the run late in the second quarter. While Young is scheduled for an MRI on Friday, the former first-round pick posted a message on his Twitter account after the game that makes it seem like the injury is only minor and he should be back in no time.
The only way Young will receive a significant amount of playing time this upcoming season is if something were to happen with Michael Vick–which wouldn’t come as a surprise. If the preseason is any indication of what to expect, Vick can expect to be running around on a consistent basis considering all of the problems with the Eagles’ offensive line.
While Mike Kafka has looked impressive during the preseason, Young is a much better option to have as a backup–which is why there was a concern when he limped off the field against the Jets. The last thing Philadelphia wants to happen is see their No. 2 quarterback suffer a severe injury during the final preseason game and figure out a different backup plan if something were to happen to Vick.
Luckily, it doesn’t seem like Young’s injury is anything to be concerned about–so there’s no reason for the Eagles or their fans to hit the panic button just yet.
