Panthers Claim Darius Butler Off of Waivers
The Panthers have added some much-needed help to the CB position by claiming Darius Butler off of waivers after the Patriots placed him on waivers on September 6th.
Butler was a former second-round pick by the New England Patriots. He has had 58 tackles and three interceptions over the course of his thus-far short career, and fellow Panthers CBs Chris Gamble and Captain Munnerlyn will likely take all of the help they can get, though the latter will likely have to battle Butler for the starting job.
Look for Munnerlyn to get the nod in the first game, but expect Butler to get a few reps here and there to try to prove himself. A CB competition certainly wouldn’t be bad for a team that has been hurting for help at CB.
