Earlier this morning the New York Giants got some good news when team doctors cleared Mario Manningham to practice. They got some even better knews when Tom Coughlin told reporters that Osi Umenyiora would practice for the first time since his arthroscopic knee surgery on August 19.
The Giants won’t say whether Osi will play against the Cardinals this Sunday, but this looks good for his progress. As mentioned in the tweet linked above, Justin Tuck was held out of practice, but Coughlin admitted he was happy with his progress on Monday and Tuesday, so Tuck will likely still play.
They are finally starting to get some good injury news lately, although it was also mentioned today that Prince Amukamara will not play this Sunday, and is still “a ways away” from practicing, says Coughlin.
