Although the Buccaneers have had a few significant injuries in the past week, a number of guys are coming off injuries this week and will definitely play a major role in the Bucs Monday night game against the Colts. Starting LB Quincy Black is listed as questionable (ankle) and is expected to play since he did fully participate in practice Saturday.
Starting TE Kellen Winslow (knee), who has been injury prone over the last few years, is listed as probable and although he should play he might not see too much time because of the fact that he was limited in practice all week and he did sit out of Thursday and Friday’s practice. Backup quarterback Josh Johnson appeared on the injury list out of nowhere yesterday and the cause was listed as an ankle issue but he will be at the game Monday and is expected to be ready if anything should happen to Josh Freeman.
The two players who were ruled out before Monday’s game included backup defensive lineman James Lee (ankle), and wide receiver Sammy Stroughter (foot). Now although the players listed on the injury report as probable or questionable should be able to play, the biggest loss for the Bucs this season also came last week when they lost starting safety Cody Grimm. Replacing Grimm will prove hard to do and although the position will be filled on Monday by someone other than Grimm, the talent level will surely not be the same.
