Philadelphia Eagles Week 4 Injury Update: Cole, Peters & More
To add injury to insult, the Philadelphia Eagles lost three key players to injuries in their embarrassing week four loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole suffered a calf injury and will probably miss up to a month, said head coach Andy Reid. The injury is to his right calf and was described as significant.
Four-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters suffered a hamstring strain on the Eagles’ final offensive play of the game. Peters will likely miss the next three games and is expected to return after the bye week. King Dunlap will start in Peters’ place.
Defensive tackle Antonio Dixon suffered a torn left triceps and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
In his place, the Eagles re-signed defensive tackle Derek Landri, who was with the team during training camp. Landri played in the ninth most snaps out of any defensive tackle in the NFL last season.
