First Rounder Gets The Nod: Danny Watkins Replaces Kyle DeVan
The day has come. First Round pick and soon to be 27 year-older, Danny Watkins gets the start this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The decision is not of great magnitude. No one really cares about offensive lineman unless they are an absolute road-grating beast.
Watkins will provide more size. The question is whether his technique, footwork and overall understanding of the offense is there. I will be watching Watkins with a keen eye. If the Eagles decide to run more, I will be curious to see if they primarily run to Watkin’s side.
Since the Eagles are 1-3, the pressure on Watkins to perform is low. It is a good spot to start the rookie.
