The only person in the Jaguars organization under more fire than head coach Jack Del Rio for his performance this season was released on Tuesday.
According to Tania Ganguli of The Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars released punter Matt Turk after they signed Nick Harris to replace him.
Harris was one of four punters that the Jaguars brought in on Tuesday for a tryout to compete for the job after Turk’s terrible performance this past Sunday against the Bengals.
Harris has had plenty of work in the NFL as he has been handling the punting duties for the Detroit Lions for the last eight seasons. He was released by the Lions prior to this season after losing a camp battle to rookie Ryan Donahue.
