The New York Jets have released their list of gameday inactives for their Week 12 contest against the Buffalo Bills, and as expected, running back LaDainian Tomlinson and receiver Jeremy Kerley lead the way.
Tomlinson and Kerley will miss their second straight games with respective knee injuries suffered two weeks ago against the New England Patriots.
The Jets will have to lean on the youngsters again like they did in Denver, including Joe McKnight, who I think can be a big boost for the sputtering offense if the Jets give him a legitimate opportunity.
Among the other inactives for today’s game are defensive linemen Kenrick Ellis and Martin Tevaseu, as well as newly acquired offensive lineman Austin Howard.
Third-string quarterback Kevin O’Connell and defensive back Ellis Lankster round out the list of inactives.
Overall though, the Jets can consider themselves lucky on the injury front, compared to many other teams around the league.
That includes their Week 12 opponent, the Buffalo Bills, who have been ravaged by injuries up and down their roster all season long, culminating with the loss of running back Fred Jackson for the season.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that the loss of Tomlinson and Kerley this week won’t hurt. But there’s no excuses in this league. You have to find a way to win, no matter what.
