Yes, I know it’s only November…But with the Miami Dolphins season headed nowhere fast, we thought it might be interesting to share the Dolphins opponents (most of them) for the 2012 season. While a lot will change between now and next September, it would appear that the Dolphins will have a more favorable schedule next season than they did this year. here’s a quick look:
Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and whichever team finishes in the same division position in the AFC West. For example, if the Dolphins finish last, they’ll play whichever AFC West team finishes last in that division.
Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, and whichever team finishes in the same divisional position in the AFC North (Cleveland).
Again, the coaches and rosters will change between now and when the Dolphins play these teams, so please keep that in mind. BUT, the Dolphins should have an easier time with the NFC West as opposed to the NFC East, which they played this year. Plus, having Cleveland, Jacksonville, and the last place team in the AFC West on the schedule, should help.
One thing that stands out is the the Dolphins will have 2 West Coast games (49ers and Cardinals). Another game that’s interesting is the matchup in Indy against the Colts. Will Peyton Manning be the QB in Indy at that point? Or will it be wonder-boy, Andrew Luck? It will be interesting to see how much the teams on the Dolphins schedule change by next year. However, a more favorable schedule, a new GM/Coach, and some roster tweaks, could turn the 3-8 Dolphins into a team to look out for next season.
