The Dallas Cowboys’ injury woes continue. Cowboys safety Barry Church was placed on Injured Reserve (IR) Tuesday, joining running back DeMarco Murray. To replace Church, the Cowboys signed Mana Silva from the Buffalo Bill’s practice squad.
Church’s dislocated his right shoulder twice during the Cowboy’ 37-34 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday night and won’t play again this year.
Silva is an undrafted rookie who played with the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason, but never panned out there or in Buffalo. The Cowboys will most likely just use Silva on special teams, but he could be called in on defense if Gerald Sensabaugh, Abram Elam or Danny McCray gets hurt. McCray replaced Church on Sunday and has played well for Dallas when called upon in the past.
