It happened for the first time since 1999, the Arizona Cardinals won their fourth straight game this season. It truly wasn’t one of the more glamorous wins yesterday, but a win is a win. The 20-17 overtime victory over the Browns also placed head coach Ken Whisenhunt in the Arizona Cardinal record books by making the coach with the most wins in franchise history.
Kevin Kolb has spent a majority of this season on the bench due to an array of injuries the latest being a concussion. Backup quarterback John Skelton has admirably filled in for him each time his number is called. Ken Whisenhunt has a difficult decision moving forward for the remaining two games of the season. Which quarterback do you start? He has said that any player who is injured will not lose their starting position on their return. This could pose a problem. Skelton is slowly gaining the support of the offense and defense. And his results can’t be argued with. He is 5-1 this season. His Tebowesque performances in the fourth quarter have caused the city of Phoenix to rally around him.
Kevin Kolb on the other hand has slowly lost support because of his proneness to injury. I haven’t abandoned hope, but I do believe that by the end of his third year here there is a good possibility that he will be bought out of his contract. Skelton is the future. Kolb is the present.
