Charlie Batch to start Saturday vs. Rams
Due to the recent developments of Ben Roethlisberger’s ankle that he hurt Dec.8, Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin has officially announced that Charlie Batch will start Saturday against the St. Louis Rams.
Roethlisberger sufferede a high ankle sprain a few weeks ago against the Cleveland Browns. He gritted his way through a Thursday night football win but had to face the San Francisco 49ers Monday and he did not look great. He was 24/45 with three interceptions and it was clear that the ankle really limited his mobility in the pocket and every hit that he took it didn’t look like he would get back up from it. As a result, it was the first time the Steelers failed to score a touchdown this season.
Even though Batch is scheduled to start, don’t be surprised if you see Dennis Dixon under center to add a different element to the game against St. Louis.
