New York Giants Already Talking Repeat After Super Bowl Win

By Jeff Shull

The New York Giants were confident and borderline cocky all throughout their miraculous post season run, so why would they stop now that they are Super Bowl Champs?

They are still talking noise, expecting themselves to be real contenders in 2012.

“If we won it this year, there’s no doubt in my mind that we can,” Mathias Kiwanuka said to the New York Post. “We’ve just got to get in the playoffs. That’s it.”

Hakeem Nicks even dared to say the Giants can be contenders for a very long time, implying they could be a dynasty.

“I feel like the sky’s the limit for this organization and our team. I feel like we can be at this level for a long time.”

The Giants snuck in to the playoffs this year and made an incredible run to the Super Bowl. The last time that happened the Giants got healthy the next season and started 11-1.

Unfortunately their repeat dreams were shattered when Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg; the Giants lost four of their next five, including a home drubbing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.

Here’s to hoping 2012 yields a better result.
