Philadelphia Eagles & QB Trent Edwards Agree To 1-Year Deal
Quarterback Trent Edwards and the Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly agreed on a one-year contract.
Edwards was out of the NFL last year.
The 28-year-old Edwards is expected to be Michael Vick’s backup, replacing last years backup, Vince Young. The Eagles will also be looking for progress from Mike Kafka in his third season in the league.
Edwards has started 32 games between Buffalo and Jacksonville during his four seasons in the league. His record currently stands at 14-19.
This is a good move by the Eagles as they now have a competent and cheap qb to back up their franchise qb in Vick.
More then likely we will see Edwards play a bit next year as Vick has the tendency to get injured while running.
Look for Edwards to have a successful but short season next year.
