The New Orleans Saints announced today that they have resigned 3 exclusive rights free agents. Wide receiver Adrian Arrington, safety Jonathon Amaya, and long snapper Justin Drescher will be with the Saints for the 2012 NFL season; all three players received one year contract extensions. The signing of these players is a good sign that the Saints have finally begun to address some of their free agent issues. However, the Saints have yet to resign quarterback Drew Brees and there is talk that the Saints might use their franchise tag on Brees. Having these three players signed is great for the Saints as they will provide depth on the team, but once Brees’s contract situation is settled it will make it difficult for the Saints to resign other big name free agents such as wide receiver Marques Colston and guard Carl Nicks.
