New Orleans Saints: Tweeting Their Way To The Top
The New Orleans Saints had a historic season as they set records in a number of categories and won many awards. Well they can add another piece of hardware to their collection, the Shorty Award; an award given to the best sports Twitter account. The Saints official twitter account, @Saints was one of six finalists and they won the award this year, according to neworleanssaints.com. If you have not checked out @Saints it is worth a look because they are constantly tweeting and giving fans updates about every and anything New Orleans Saints related. In addition to @Saints winning the Shorty Award, punter Thomas Morstead’s twitter account @ThomasMorstead won the Shorty Vox Populi award for receiving the most nominations in the football twitter category. The Saints can not only dominate on the football field but they are dominating in the social media scene. Winning the Shorty Award only adds to the groundbreaking year the New Orleans Saints had and hopefully next season they can add another Super Bowl trophy to their ever growing trophy case.
