Titans Owner Bud Adams Wants a Visit with Peyton Manning

As much as I would hate to see this happen, apparently Bud Adams is dis-agreeing with me

By all means do I think Peyton Manning is a great quarterback, but I feel completely secure with Hasselbeck and Locker in the upcoming 2012 season. Mike Munchak and Ruston Webster have made a note numerous times, even in the combine, that they are confident in the two quarterbacks.

Unfortunately Bud Adams wants Manning.

According to the Tennessean Adams is prepared to make a competitive offer. This does make sense, I agree the Titans have the money, even with franchising Griffin, with letting some free agents go soon, the Titans are still well under the salary cap.

Adams has contacted Manning’s agent, Tom Condon and is pressing hard for Manning to take a trip to visit in Tennessee.

Other teams are also interested in Manning, including the Cardinals, Broncos, Chiefs and Seahawks. All of which could use better quarterbacks when the Titans are solid. That’s right; I do not find Tim Tebow to be a solid quarterback. Manning could take his spot easy.

Personally I hope for Manning’s sake and the NFL’s that he ends up in Arizona or Miami. Could you imagine the hype of him throwing to Larry Fitzgerald? And Miami has great protection. They could be unstoppable.

Adams told the Tennessean, “I hope to be one of the teams he looks at. Since he went to school in Tennessee I think Tennessee is where he should be. I think he could play for two or three years. I think he’s the guy that could come in and turn this around for us. That’s why I am so anxious to get him to come visit with us and I want him on my team. I could sit down with him and show him what (we’d be willing to pay). If he would come (meet) with me he would be happy with what he’d get.”

Really, so you are going to pay what he wants, for a few years, then have to turn to Hasselbeck and Locker, whom have so far been competing very willingly for the starter position, and say “Okay now you can start.”

So you are looking at three years tops of having him around? I know he has been practicing and such but I don’t think that is going to fly very well with the rest of the team. Let alone Webster or Munchak. Thanks goodness they are sticking up for the team in this situation. They were not available to the Tennessean for quotes. Probably because they will be the opposite of what Adams what them to say.
