The Chicago Bears Appear to Have interest in LaRon Landry
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Chicago Bears appear to have interest in safety LaRon Landry. Along with the Bears, the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles appear to be showing interest in Landry too. However, the Washington Redskins would like to re-sign Landry.
Landry was drafted by the Redskins 6th overall in the 2007 draft. Landry is still young as he’s only 27 and looks like a beast. Landry has had a good career, but nothing special by any measure. However, he would still be a nice piece to that Bear defense. He’s also a hard hitter and good tackler. Last season, Landry was injured for most of the season and did not put up much stats. However, he’s healthy and ready to sign with a team. If that’s re-signing with the Redskins or finding a new home. I don’t know exactly how much he’s looking for, but will be in the Bears price range.
If the Bears were to sign Landry, he would join Major Wright and Chris Conte. He could join Craig Steltz too … the Bears are expected and want to re-sign Steltz. But you never know, if he gets a good offer and the Bears want no part of that offer, he’ll be playing for a new team in ’12.
I would love the Bears to sign Landry and I would expect him to have a monster year. He’s what the Bears need, a good safety that plays hard.
