San Diego Chargers Sign Robert Meachem to 4-Year, $25.9 Million Deal
After the San Diego Chargers lost Vincent Jackson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they quickly went to work replacing him with former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem.
The Bucs gave Jackson a whopping five year, $55.55 million deal, and it looks like the Chargers have found a much cheaper, albeit less talented replacement.
Meachem’s best year came in 2009, when he turned in 45 receptions for 722 yards and nine touchdowns. However, the Saints have always had a plethora of weapons with Drew Brees, so maybe this is the opportunity Meachem needs to show the world what he can do.
In order to make room for Meachem’s four year, $29.5 million deal the Chargers released left tackle Marcus McNeil.
