The Jacksonville Jaguars have found a new target for Blaine Gabbert.
According to Vito Stellino of The Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars agreed to a five-year deal with free agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson.
Robinson’s deal with the Jaguars is worth $32.5 million with $14 million in guaranteed money.
Robinson, who has been bounced around throughout his first five seasons in the NFL, is coming off of his best season in which he caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Dallas Cowboys. His size and speed immediately makes him one of the Jaguars best receiving options.
Many attribute new Jaguars wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan with credit for Robinson’s drastic improvement last season. Sullivan worked with Robinson during the lockout last summer.
Even with Robinson in the fold, the Jaguars still have a massive need at the wide receiver position. Some expect the Jaguars to look at adding another free agent wide receiver and take at least one other receiver in April’s NFL Draft.
