Drew Stanton’s Agent Deryk Gilmore Rips New York Jets And Quarterback Tim Tebow On Twitter

By Eric Haftel

With the recent acquisition of quarterback, Tim Tebow, the New York Jets got rid of their now former backup, Drew Stanton.

As soon as the announcement of Tebow to Jets was made, Stanton asked to get out of town. He got his wish today as he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.

After the deal was done, Stanton’s agent, Deryk Gilmore, decided he wanted to put some gas on the fire sending out the following tweet (which has since been deleted):

“Excited for the #Colts to get @drewstanton a leader, winner, and QB not a gimmick to sell tickets.”

After that was deleted by Gilmore, he tweeted this instead:

#Jets are a class organization for doing the right thing. I believe in my players and know what they can do. Glad it all worked out!

I’m guessing that either Stanton or someone else talked with Gilmore and told him to take that post down.

Whoever did made a good move.

Look for Stanton to be a backup for the Colts and Tebow to be backup/starter for the Jets.

Stanton didn’t have a chance of cracking the starting lineup for the Jets but depending upon what happens for the Colts, could get a start or two. This will end up working out well for him.
