Improvements to Tennessee Titans LP Field Coming Along Successfully in Nashville

By Stephanie Umek

The Tennessee Titans are one of the newest teams in the NFL, with one of the newest stadiums. But who said there is never room for improvement? LP Field is under construction this off season and though some of the changes being made are relatively minuscule, it will make for a much better experience for fans and players alike.

On top of creating a better atmosphere for players and fans, it also creates a great place to hold off season events. This off season, the Tennessee Titans hosted the USA Football Tennessee Youth Leadership Forum. It was held on Saturday March 3 at the Titans’ Baptist Sports Park in Nashville.

This was an event that hosted 30 representatives from different Tennessee leagues. All of which met at the Titans facility. Because the Titans are so involved in the community, and more importantly, youth football in general, they took many steps to making sure player and participant’s safety were priority. They ran background checks on coaches and even researched how to become affiliated with USA Football.

Though the forum was not directly held at LP Field, this opens many opportunities for the Titans to expand their community outreach.

The Titans DID however host a realitively exciting event this off season, drawing a new crowd to the stadium. The U.S. under-23 Soccer team played Cuba on March 22 during the Olympic qualifying match ups. The game was followed by Canada on March 24 and El Salvador on March 26. All matches were played at LP Field.

In December, the Nashville Metro Council approved up to $28 million in bond issuance to use towards the renovations for LP field. Some of the new renovations will include larger and sharper high definition video screens and ribbon boards. There will also be a new sound system and twelve elevators to accommodate service to fans that sit in the upper deck on the south end of the field. There will be numerous other improvements to the infrastructure reports.

Considering the Titans’ involvement in the community, and their loyal fans, the improvements are definitely a good thing.
