On Wednesday, the NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule for all 32 teams. The Arizona Cardinals missed out on Peyton Manning and will now ride the right arm of Kevin Kolb, who recently received a big roster bonus, through the 2012 NFL season with a shot at the playoffs.
Here’s a look at the Cardinals’ 2012 preseason schedule:
Week 1: New Orleans Saints (Hall of Fame Game)
Week 2: at Kansas City Chiefs
Week 3: Oakland Raiders
Week 4: Denver Broncos
These games don’t mean as much as the regulars season because most teams tend to only play their starters for the first half at the most.
The Cardinals were up and down again in 2011 with a quarterback carousel, which was the result of injuries to Kolb. If he and receiver Larry Fitzgerald are healthy in 2012, Arizona’s passing attack has the potential to be the best in the NFC West.
The Cardinals were a Super Bowl team just four years ago, so Arizona is trying to get back to that level of play with Kolb at the helm. With a little luck and a healthy year, the Cardinals might sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card in 2012.
