On Wednesday, the NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule for all 32 teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were supposed to be contenders in 2011, but instead wound up with a top-5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. After a busy off-season, the Bucs are ready to try it again in 2012.
Here’s a look at the Buccaneers’ 2012 preseason schedule:
Week 1: at Miami Dolphins
Week 2: Tennessee Titans
Week 3: New England Patriots
Week 4: at Washington Redskins
These games don’t mean as much as the regular season because most teams tend to only play their starters for the first half at the most.
The Buccaneers signed several key free agents this off-season, including receiver Vincent Jackson. He should bolster Tampa Bay’s offense and help quarterback Josh Freeman get to the level he was supposed to in 2011.
The Buccaneers also hold the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, something that could make a huge difference in their 2012 campaign. Whether it’s an offensive or defensive player, he’ll be a playmaker that makes the Buccaneers at least one game better in 2012.
