Washington Redskins 2012 NFL Preseason Schedule

On Wednesday, the NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule for all 32 teams. The Washington Redskins were awful in 2011, but that could change drastically in 2012. The ‘Skins have had a big off-season so far and it’s only going to get bigger once the 2012 NFL draft arrives.

Here’s a look at the Redskins’ 2012 preseason schedule:

Week 1: at Buffalo Bills

Week 2: at Chicago Bears

Week 3: Indianapolis Colts

Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

These games don’t mean as much as the regular season because most teams tend to only play their starters for the first half at the most.

The Redskins gave up the farm last month to move up from the No. 6 to the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. While this ejected them from the Peyton Manning race, it gave Washington position to take Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III with that second overall pick. Griffin is expected to start right away and turn the Redskins’ franchise around.

Washington provided a little help for Griffin by signing several veteran free agent receivers this off-season, though none are future Hall of Famers. Still, Washington is at least making all the right moves in the front office to have a chance at a .500 season in 2012.
