Titans Receiver Kenny Britt May Need Second Procedure on Knee
Just when everyone thought that the Tennessee Titans offseason was going oh so perfectly, of course someone has to throw a wrench into the equation. It turns out that Kenny Britt‘s knee may not be healing as perfectly as everyone though that it would.
According to head coach Mike Munchak a second surgery is a definite possibility however Derrick Morgan had some of the same work done last season, so the team is familiar with the injury. Munchak told Titans Insider that, “I don’t know if he will at some point, but I think that’s something that’s common with that injury. Derrick went through it last year. The good thing is that even if you do have it, it’s not a huge setback. It’s not something that sets you way back. But that is obviously part of the process, or could be, if that arises down the road.”
To me, I don’t think this will be a huge setback for the Titans, I firmly believe that Britt has taken many precautions both in and out of the weight room. The fact that he has been rehabbing the knee for quite some time now is encouraging to know that the knee is not getting irritated easily. Which is a very good sign.
The Titans were able to do without a healthy Britt last year, but having the Playoffs be a goal this year, will definitely require everyone to be at 110%. It’s a good thing that Munchak and the rest of the coaching staff has a lot of confidence in their players because they need every bit to rule the AFC South this coming season.
