Brian Price Punched Mark Barron in Face at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mini-Camp

By Jeff Shull

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Brian Price has had a rough couple years in the NFL. He missed 11 games in his rookie season due to injury, and despite starting 14 games in 2011 only compiled 24 tackles and three sacks last year. Tragedy struck price at the recent death of his sister, which has caused him to miss the start of OTAs as he tries to adopt her two children.

Now things have apparently been taken to a new level as Price reportedly got into a scuffle with 2012 first round pick Mark Barron, hitting him in the face. No word yet on what exactly happened or why, but it would seem Price has some demons he is dealing with and could use some time away from the game, at least until training camp.

This is not exactly the type of news new head coach Greg Schiano wants to be dealing with as he looks to take on the NFL for the first time. Schiano has been treating the practices like a college atmosphere, forcing players to run to water breaks and such. This likely led to the departure of Kellen Winslow, who did not seem to agree with the new coach’s methods.

Price will not get off easy. Schiano is obviously trying instill a team first attitude, and two guys fighting is unacceptable.
