Cam Newton “Disgusted” By 2011 Game Tape

Cam Newton had a lot of critics before he took the field in 2011, but then he went on to have one of the most fantastic rookie years in NFL history.

So how do you follow up a year like that? For Cam, it’s all about staying hungry and continuing to convert his critics(himself included).

“I don’t think I knocked all the critics out, and I’m including myself as one of those critics,” Newton said, six months removed from a season in which he shattered multiple rookie records. “But was it easy? No, we are in the National Football League; nothing in this league is easy.

“We’re talking about a season that was just 6-10,” he went on. “Now that I go back and look at the film, there was things that I was disgusted about, and I feel like could have done a lot better. As we go forth on this whole preparation of the offseason, hopefully I can mend those things and get back on track.”

The idea of Cam Newton improving on his performance from last year is quite tantalizing, especially considering he was doing it all after a lockout and a severely shortened OTA and training camp period.

The ESPN radio interviewer closed things by asking: “Should I draft you No. 1 for my fantasy team?”

“Hey man, Ace Boogie, man,” he responded. “He ain’t going to let you down, I should tell you that.”

The Carolina Panthers are thrilled to have a young man with Newton’s talent and desire not to let anybody down. I for one can’t wait to see what “Ace Boogie” has in store for the NFL next year.

Watch Cam Newton Put His Own Interests Above The Team

Millions of things have been said about Cam Newton, but this one instance in particular fires me up as a Carolina Panthers fan. With the score 16-10 Broncos, Von Miller knocks the ball out of Newton's hands which leads to a mad scramble. Newton has the opportunity to jump on the ball in the pile, but he decides to back away to protect himself from injury. In a one-possession game in the Super Bowl, Newton should've sacrificed every limb he has to get that ball back for his team, and it's extremely unnerving to me as a fan that he didn't jump in there.

Watch Angry Grandpa Go Insane After Panthers' Loss

The Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos 24-10 in Super Bowl 50 which disappointed Panthers fans everywhere. I'm going to go out on a limb and say not many fans were as angered by the loss as this elderly man. While a lot of us have the self-control to avoid letting our anger take us this far, this grandpa didn't care and took his frustrations out on the television.

Watch Newton Give Immature Interview, Walk Off

I've defended Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton against his haters all season long, but I can't do it any longer after watching his postgame interview following Super Bowl 50. He needed to be a man and sit up there and answer every question sent his way. If he's going to be the excitable, happy guy fans see after wins, he needs to be a professional after losses. This reeks of immaturity and is something he will need to work on in the future.
