Today I will join “It’s Your Dime” Blog Talk Radio episode 36 and Rourke Douglas Decker, the editor of NFCNBLog.com, and co-host Nate Koenig to discuss Brett Favre, the off-seasons of the 4 NFC North teams, the Saints bounty scandal, and who we like to make the playoffs in that division.

I, for one, can’t wait for the current NFL season to start. I think the Carolina Panthers will make a push for a wildcard spot in the playoffs this season. They will definitely be in competition for one of the spots with the NFC North’s Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.(Many are predicting Green Bay to win the division). For the Panthers, a lot depends on whether the defense is actually improved from last season, which it should be with the return of many starters from injury and 1st round draft pick Luke Kuechly holding down one of the linebacker positions.
Brett Favre willing to go to battle with Cam Newton over “anybody else” was definitely news to my ears, and with all the quality quarterbacks in the NFC this year it should be a playoff race that comes down to the final week. There have also been rumblings about Brett Favre potentially reconciling his relationship with the Green Bay Packers organization, but he has also reportedly declined to attend Mike Holmgreen’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony. They say time heals all wounds, but I guess it will take a bit more time for Favre’s deep old wounds to heal.
