New York Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin Takes Home Lone ESPY Award For Team

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin took home the lone ESPY award that the Giants would receive on Wednesday night. Coughlin won the award for best coach. The Giants were also nominated for Best Team and Best Championship Performance.

Do the ESPY’s really mean that much? No, but its still a cool idea for sports to have its own award show. If music and movies can do it, why not sports right? I’m sure Coughlin would prefer another Lombardi Trophy.

I’m sure coach Coughlin likes the recognition and he’s certainly deserving of the award. The team was 9-7 and at different points during the season, fans were calling all the talk shows, calling for Coughlin to be fired. There was already calls for this it seems like every year, and yet Coughlin stays and even got an extension.

Congrats to coach Coughlin on a job well done. Hopefully he will have back to back wins of this award.
