Former Cornerback Troy Vincent Elected to Philadelphia Eagles’ Hall of Fame

He’s likely not going to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame any time soon. But former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Troy Vincent did earn an induction into the franchise’s Hall of Fame, where he will be honored during halftime of the Eagles-Panthers game on Monday, November 26th.

Vincent played eight of his 15 seasons in the National Football League with the Eagles (1996-2003). Those were easily his most successful years. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003, and he earned a First Team All-Pro selection in 2002, and a Second Team selection the year before.

He recorded 28 interceptions in eight seasons, including a league-leading seven in 1999. His 28 INTs are the seventh most in franchise history.

Vincent’s five Pro Bowl selections tie him with cornerback Eric Allen for the most in franchise history.

During Vincent’s eight seasons, the Eagles went to the postseason five times (1996, 2000-2003), winning three division titles and advancing to the NFC championship game three times.

Vincent also played for the Miami Dolphins (1992-1995), Buffalo Bills (2004-2006), and Washington Redskins (2006).

But as good of a player as Vincent was, he may have been an even better person.

He received the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2002, which recognizes a player’s off-the-field success with his on-the-field accomplishments. Vincent also created the Troy Vincent Foundation, which provides educational and counseling services to youth.

Vincent spent the final 14 seasons of his NFL career as a team captain. He also served as the Eagles’ longtime player representative and is currently the NFL’s Vice President of Player Engagement.

Vincent is the 36th member of the Eagles’ Hall of Fame. He is also joined by Leo Carlin, a long-time ticket employee with the team. Carlin spent 52 years working with the Eagles, and is the third non-coach to join the team Hall of Fame.
