Baltimore Ravens Safety Ed Reed Reports For Training Camp

By Riley Schmitt

Ed Reed had a lot of Baltimore Ravens fans nervous as he constantly said that he was not sure if he was going to play at all this coming season.  That all changed Wednesday morning as Reed reported to training camp, which is a moment for rejoicing in Baltimore.

Ed Reed is starting to reach Favre-ian levels about his possible retirement so it is good to see that he decided to show up to camp.  The man really wants to a ring and he can not do that if he is sitting at home.  He is still one of the best safeties in the game and really adds another dimension to the vaunted Ravens defense.

The Ravens locked up Ray Rice earlier this offseason so the team looks set to make a run this season.  They should have made the Super Bowl last year, but some poor execution late hurt the cause.  This year looks to be different as more players should be making the leap forward.

The Ravens should be one of the favorites in the AFC this season.  Ed Reed gives that defense an interception machine and he’s good for one wacky return a season.  He might gamble on a few plays, but he he is more often than not a positive instead of a negative.  The Ravens certainly would not be able to replace him with a guy on their roster and expect the same results.  Look out for the Ravens this season.
