Eagles trade LBs Fokou, Lloyd to Colts for CB Thomas, draft pick
The Philadelphia Eagles have traded linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd to the Indianapolis Colts for cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seven-round pick in the 2013 draft.
Thomas, who is a third-round pick in 2010, played in nine games last season with the Colts, starting five. He had 33 tackles and three knockdowns. Thomas spent his rookie season on injured reserve because of a knee injury.
Fokou, selected in the seventh-round of the 2009 draft, started 22 games in three seasons with the Eagles. Lloyd has spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad last year and was inactive for the last five games. Both linebackers were long shots to make the Eagles opening day roster.
Fokou now heads to the Colts with a decent amount of starting experience under his belt and a good chance to see a lot of playing time.
Thomas will be in a tough battle to make the Eagles roster as the team is stacked at the corner position.Three corners that are guaranteed a roster spot are Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and fourth-round pick Brandon Boykin. From there, Joselio Hanson, Curtis Marsh, Cliff Harris, Brandon Hughes and Trevard Lindley are all fighting for roster spots.
