New Orleans Saints Training Camp 2012: Drew Brees And The Offense Is Looking Good

With training camp well under way the New Orleans Saints are looking pretty good. Specifically, Drew Brees and the Saints’ offense. The Saints’ offense was the main reason the Saints had so much success last season and if things are going well in training camp that bodes well for their season.

There is still speculation that the Saints will crumble without Sean Payton. While the Saints will be without Payton for this upcoming season they still do have Brees. Brees will be expected to carry the offense even more this season now that Payton will not be there.

During their practice on August 1, 2012 the Saints offense did very well despite an interception. During the Saints’ fourth outdoor and padded practice Brees was picked off by safety, Roman Harper. However, that was just a minor setback for Brees and the offense. On the next drive Brees was able to connect with Marques Colston for a 32 yard touchdown pass.

The Saints passing game figures to be one of the best in the league and with Brees at the helm they will not be denied. In addition to their great passing game the Saints’ ground game is having a good training camp as well.

Running back, Mark Ingram has been running the ball well during training camp as he participated in full-contact drills. Ingram is expected to have about 200 carries this season and it is encouraging to see him participate in full-contact drills as he had offseason surgery on his knee.

With a good training camp the Saints’ offense is looking to have another great season. The Saints had the most dynamic offense last season and they should be able to repeat as one of the most dominant offenses in the NFL.
