Dallas Cowboys Training Camp: Cole Beasley Has A Change of Heart

After clearing his mind and having a change of heart, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley returned to training camp.

Friday afternoon, Beasley hung his cleats up and departed Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California.  No one was sure why; not the team officials, not the coaching staff, not the players and apparently not even Beasley’s family.

However, two days after Beasley informed head coach Jason Garrett that he was quitting, he decided to return to the team.

“I just had a couple of issues that I had to take care of and go home, and spend some time with my family, and go over some stuff,” said Beasley.  “I think I got that all resolved, and now I’m just ready to focus on football,”

He also said that the issue had been weighing on him for days, but did not involve football.

Garrett commented on the situation during his press conference on Sunday:

“One of the things we liked about Cole Beasley is his passion for the game and his hunger for the game.  He came back and he didn’t have that same fire, and sometimes when you’re a rookie free agent in the NFL the world seems really big to you.  When I spoke to him yesterday it was like the guy that we signed back after the draft.”

Beasley reassured the media in an interview that the issue was taken care of and it wouldn’t occur again, although that still remains to be seen.

Beasley, an undrafted free agent receiver from Southern Methodist University, will be competing against fellow receivers Kevin OgletreeAndre HolmesRaymond RadwayDwayne HarrisDanny CoaleSaalim Hakim and newly signed David Little for a roster spot.

I don’t know how you feel about it, but when a girl dumps me and then comes crawling back, it’s not only hard to trust her, but things will never be the way they were before.

There’s no denying that from here on out, Beasley will be watched closely by the coaching staff, his teammates and fans.  Any mistake he makes will be magnified and any stumble from here on out may lead to his demise.
