NFL Rumors: Seattle Seahawks and Terrell Owens Close to Deal
It seems almost fitting that the Seattle Seahawks would sign Terrell Owens to a deal after reportedly being impressed with his workout this afternoon. After that workout, the Seahawks and Owens began contract negotiations and the two sides are expected to agree to a deal at some point today.
The 38-year old wide receiver evidently ran a 4.45 40 yard dash at the workout. That’s very impressive, but are the Seahawks really willing to put up with Owens’ antics? This is the same guy that got released from the Allen Wranglers indoor league team. Apparently Allen has higher standards than Pete Carroll.
This is not at all surprising considering the Seahawks have signed both Antonio Bryant and Braylon Edwards, two wide receivers it seemed not many teams were at all interested in.
Owens has not played since 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he surprised many people with 72 receptions for 983 yards and nine touchdowns. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), Owens could not get anyone to take a chance on him after having knee surgery over the summer. He got a few looks during the season, but nothing came to fruition.
Call me crazy, but if the Allen Wranglers had enough of your antics, something tells me an NFL locker room is not the place for you. Obviously the Seahawks feel differently. If Owens some how puts the team before himself, something he’s never done in his career, maybe he can be a valuable asset.
Don’t hold your breath.

Counterpoint: Dallas Cowboys running backs need to earn it
There are some serious question marks with the Dallas Cowboys running back situation. This does not mean we should expect utter garbage from our running game this year; the Cowboys had a lot of question marks going into 2014.
