NFL Rumors: Green Bay Packers Talking Extension With Greg Jennings

The NFL rumors seem to grow quiet around this time of year but it sounds like the Green Bay Packers are making a bit of noise.  The Packers are not trying to acquire somebody but they look to be taking care of one of their own as they are talking about a contract extension with Greg Jennings.

This would be a smart move by the Packers as Jennings is one of the most underrated wideouts in all of football.  He consistently puts up good numbers but he does not get the recognition that other guys do.  Part of that is because he is playing a team with a ton of weapons.  Another part of that is because he really does not do anything to make him stand out.

The Packers are coming up to a point where they need to start working on extensions with a lot of different players.  Getting an extension done for Jennings early would be a great move by the organization.  They tend to work quickly in situations such as this and they avoid bad blood when it comes to contract negotiations.  If they are working on a deal, it should be done quickly.

The Packers do have a ton of wideouts by Jennings is by far the best.  He is the go to guy and the one that defenses key to.  Without Jennings, the Packers offense would not be as potent.  Expect a deal to get done between the two sides sooner rather than later.

It is rare that the NFL rumors would be surrounding Green Bay this close to the season but it sounds like this is certainly for the better.  Locking a guy like 85 up is a good thing for the future of the franchise.
