NFL Preseason Week Two: Tennessee Titans Take Down Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-7

It was almost like a different team was preforming tonight in Tamp Bay for week two of the NFL Preseason. Compared to last week, the Tennessee Titans seemed to have all of their stuff together, for the most part.

Many people feel that the quarterback battle got nowhere near solved tonight as Jake Locker only made 4 of 11 attempts with one interception. Matt Hasselbeck saw action and went 4-for-5 for 29 yards. Rusty Smith, however, to me, was the most impressive coming out and going 5-for9 with 86 yards and one touchdown.

Chris Johnson too, made up for a lot of critics from the offseason. He grabbed two touchdowns off ten pass attempts with a total of 46 yards. Darius Reynaud has seven attempts for 75 yards.

Rob Bironas keep the Titans in the game going 3-for4 on field goal attempts and kicked two extra points.

Everything wasn’t all fun and games though tonight, unfortunately the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did have one serious injury. Running back LeGarrette Blount limped off the field due to a leg injury in the first half.

As far as scoring goes, both teams earned seven points in the first quarter and then Tennessee would hold Tampa Bay for the remainder of the game. The Titans would go on to score 13 in the second, three in the third and another touchdown in the fourth to finalize the game.

This Thursday the Titans will take on the Arizona Cardinals in their first home game of the preseason. Game time is 7:00 CT and will be aired on ESPN and Tennessee’s local ABC Network.
