Davin Joseph Carted Off Field With Left Knee Injury

By Krissy Brierre

During the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the New England Patriots tonight, Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph was injured. He was carted off the field with what looked like a left knee injury.

If he is in fact seriously injured, this will be a huge blow to the Buccaneers offensive line. Joseph has been the rock for this O-line for seven years now. The injury took place towards the end of the first half with 1 minute and 5 seconds left. He immediately began clutching his knee and I’m sure all Buccaneers fans became seriously concerned.

With the way the Buccaneers collapsed last season, after winning four games total last season, Joseph still made the Pro Bowl because his stats were just that good. Despite all the bad, he was the light that shined on the Buccaneers roster.

Also note that defensive tackle Gerald McCoy hopped off the field with a lower-leg injury earlier in the game. It seems that McCoy is fine though, so I’m sure you can expect for him to be ready by week 1 of regular season.

Joseph signed a $52.5 million contract two off-seasons ago and the Buccaneers paid him because they know how valuable he is to this team.

He will likely undergo more testing on his knee and we won’t find out more information until coach Greg Schiano speaks after the game tonight. Buccaneers fans should be extremely concerned if Joseph turns out to be injured enough to be taken out of games this season. He is the one guy on that roster that you could consistently count on and without him who knows how that o-line will hold up.
