What to Watch For: New York Giants vs Chicago Bears

Game three of the preseason is like a dress rehearsal for a show. This is the time when you need to see certain guys perform. Game three is the most meaningful of the preseason games. The starters will also play the entire first half and into the third quarter for the first time to give them practice for when the real season starts September 5th. Here’s what to watch for tonight for the New York Giants.

Eli Manning- Manning has yet to throw a touchdown pass all preseason. No it’s not that big a deal that he hasn’t thrown one, however, you’d like you’re starting quarterback to at least have one during the preseason. Eli is 11-22 for 122 yards and one interception so far. Preseason stats don’t mean a lot unless you’re fighting for a spot, but you want Manning to play well since he probably won’t next week.

David Wilson- The rookie running back has been getting more reps with the first team this week and will see a lot of playing time tonight. He’s leading the team this preseason with 69 yards rushing and 4.5 yards per carry.

Pass rush- The defense sacked Jets quarterbacks seven times last week and they wont have Jason Pierre-Paul tonight who is out with an injured back. The Bears line is known to be leaky too so look to see if the line can get pressure on Jay Cutler tonight.
