New York Giants Begin To Set Their 53 Man Roster

Every team in the NFL, including the New York Giants have to cut their rosters to 53 by 9pm tonight. It looks like the Giants roster is rounding into shape. Let’s take a look at who won’t be there this Wednesday as they begin their title defense.

First, Tyler Sash was put on the reserve suspended list and corner Bruce Johnson was put on injured reserve. Now to the cuts.

RB: D.J. Ware

WR: Isiah Stanback, David Douglas and Dan DePalma

TE: Larry Donnell

OL: Selvish Capers and Matt McCants

DE Matt Broha and Craig Marshall

DT Marcus Thomas and Dwayne Hendricks

LB Greg Jones and Jake Muasau

I think the names you notice first are Ware and Jones. Ware was going to be a third down back but Andre Brown surpassed him and Da’Rel Scott is gonna play special teams. Look for David Wilson to get a lot more playing time now. Jones started at middle linebacker last year, but with all the depth they have there, someone had to go.

I think someone will claim Douglas and I think Hendricks may make someone’s team as a backup lineman. Congrats goes out to Adewale Ojomo and Will Hill, two undrafted rookies who made the team.
